Yesterday was perhaps the final snow day of 2013, a year in which snow days have meant the federal government closes up shop at the threat of inclement weather (and local organizations, who for the most part have policies that follow OPM’s status for weather, follow suit) and then it’s actually not that bad outside. Yesterday fit that mold perfectly. As a result, it was basically another Sunday for me. Sundays are my reset days – my gentleman friend and I tidy and/or clean up the house, I give myself an at-home facial, and I watch a ton of episodes of whatever I’m currently working through on Netflix (right now, it’s Breaking Bad).

Given that yesterday felt like a Sunday, this morning VERY much feels like a Monday. My Monday uniform, as you might have picked up if you follow me on Instagram, is all about comfort that looks like I’m trying harder than I actually am. Jersey-knit dresses are great for this – there’s very little coordination that goes into wearing a dress, since it’s a one-piece outfit. This dress is from a great local boutique that happens to be a block from my house, which can be very dangerous when you start justifying it as building up the neighborhood’s economy. Nonetheless, this purchase has been a winner. I love the subtle origami detail at the neck, and the vivid dark teal is a great color to wear on a cold post-snow day. Alas, I can’t find a link for it online, but the Eliza J. I’ve linked in its stead is a great alternative with a lovely asymmetrical neckline.

Finishing it off are some of my staples: the Halogen cardigan I have in four colors, my beloved petite tights, and a gorgeous delicate gold necklace for just a bit of flash. Faux-Monday/real-Wednesday, I’m coming for you.
