Y’all, blush-colored clothes are EVERYWHERE right now. And I’m not complaining. If you were to browse my various active shopping carts online, you’d see outfits in various shades of navy and blush all over the place. It’s one of the most versatile color combinations, and I’m glad to take advantage.
I think it probably all started with Bobbi Brown’s Navy and Nude collection. I managed to escape that promotion with only a single product (the sublime limited-edition brightening brick) but it set me forth toward my current color obsession.
As I mentioned before, I don’t wear black. As a result, I tend to wear somewhat creative neutrals: cognac, charcoal, stone, etc. Both navy and blush (or nude, or nectar, or whatever peachy-brown color you want to call it) fall into that category, making this palette perfect for demure-but-fabulous looks. Here’s what I’m loving this week (and they all come in Petite sizing!):
Cowl Neck Dress | Dorothy Perkins
Dorothy Perkins is a British clothing line akin to Asos and Topshop. This dress was basically begging for me to bring it home, and at $44 (plus a 25% off code!) who was I to turn it down? I have been searching high and low for a colorblock sheath dress, which has been a surprisingly hard goal, given how ubiquitous they are this season. They’re all the wrong shape, or the wrong color (THEY ALL HAVE BLACK), or the wrong pattern. This dress focuses the colorblock on the bodice and leaves a simple shape for the bottom – just what I was looking for, and in my colors! Done.
Satin Crepe Seamed Dress | Ann Taylor
This gorgeous body-con dress has my eye, too. The delicate color and the figure-flattering seaming have me thinking I could absolutely pull this one off. With a navy blazer and cognac wedges, it’s great for a more dressed-up day at the office; with navy peep-toe pumps and a sparkly clutch, it’s wearable for a wedding in any season.
Ponte-Knit Blazer | Old Navy
This knit blazer comes highly recommended by Jean at Extra Petite, and the two colors available this season? Navy and blush! This is a very versatile piece; the blazer shape works for the office with a pencil skirt or a sheath dress, and the more informal knit works with jeans. At $40 a pop and with 25% off through tomorrow, I might just get both!
What color combination are you rocking this season?
