Sweater: Old Navy | Button Down: Old Navy [similar] | Skirt: Thrifted | Boots: Lucky Brand [similar]
As you know, I love a comfy sweater (here, and here) and today is no exception. With sleet in the forecast, this fisherman’s sweater was a must. Paired with a pencil skirt, it felt like a pretty easy outfit, but when I looked in the mirror, it felt like something was missing. My cozy comfy sweater silhouette was too slouchy for the pencil skirt. Not having a ton of time, nor the want, to change, I figured I would just try to create the shape I wanted. Adding a thin belt made this look a little more tailored and work appropriate. Sold!
New boots make their debut in this outfit. I’ve been searching all season for cognac/tobacco colored leather riding boots. It’s always hard to find wide calf boots that don’t assume your ankle is just as large as your calf, thus looking like your boot is eating your ankle. Well I finally found a pair that fits all of the requirements – right color: check. Pull on design: check. Riding Boot: check. Fits calf: check. Right Price Point: CHECK CHECK! I got these Lucky Rollie riding boots for $85! Such a steal for real leather boots.
So the lesson of this #outfitselfit, is best told by the SNL Gap Girls. When in doubt about a chunky sweater:
