Happy Sunday, #PetiteCrew! My choir is performing a concert this afternoon, and it’s going to be one of the more gorgeous selections of music that has ever existed. Before pulling on my black gown, though, my gentleman friend and I wandered over to the neighborhood Scandinavian café (what, there’s not one in every ‘hood?) for a delicious brunch. I pulled on the above outfit in about fifteen seconds, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
The key to a successful Canadian Tuxedo (denim-on-denim) is color variety. You want a look that’s more Alexa Chung and less Full House:
The above-photographed shirt (mine, not DJ’s) is a very pale, over-washed blue; therefore, I paired it with dark jeans that do not have any whiskering. A pair of bright All Stars add a dash of color and that’s a brunch look. I chose to finish not with jewelry but with a front-tuck, which I’ve found accentuates my waist without over-accentuating my hips in a way that I love.
