Sweater: Kate Spade | Pants: Banana Republic | Shoes: Naturalizer | Ring: Elizabeth and James | Earrings: Kate Spade
YOU GUYS IT IS SO WARM TODAY. And by “warm,” I mean, 50 degrees. With the promise of more polar temps next week. But I’ve been living in a snow-shrouded District for the past week and I am going to live.it.up today. I mean, even Stringer Bell agrees:
That’s like a 40-degree day. Ain’t nobody got nothing to say about a 40-degree day. Fifty. Bring a smile to your face.
Given the beautiful, tropical temperatures around here, I had a singular thought: ankle pants. I love ankle pants FAR more than I love regular pants, but when it’s freezing outside, they’re just not an option.
I call this look “my best Audrey Hepburn.” Since I don’t wear black, I can’t really do a full Audrey, but I think this outfit does a good job of updating her style for my tastes. Foundation piece: dark, neutral ankle pants. Then, a twee sweater (in this case, a winner from Cyber Monday). The oxfords are masculine, naturally, but the low vamp of the shoe is distinctively feminine. I didn’t want any necklaces to distract from the sweater’s gorgeous neckline, so I chose simple stud earrings with a bit of sparkle. The ring, one of my favorites, is a bit frustrating to wear with gloves (the points of the star often snag my gloves’ lining) so it got pulled out today as well.
50-degree day, I love you.
