#OutfitSelfie 2.4.13: eShakti Follow-Up

Dress: eShakti | Tights: DKNY | Boots: Franco Sarto

About a week or so after my eShakti review went live, they had one of their amazing “buy two, get one free” deals. I also had a $30 coupon, so I decided that there was no time like the present. I bought the Brooklyn dress with its amazing bustline origami, a very cute piped dress that will look amazing in the summer with wedge sandals, and the above Peggy Olson inspired number, notable not only for its appearance in multiple blog posts but also for the fact that it’s my first custom piece.

As I mentioned in my review, you can either buy eShakti pieces “off the rack” (i.e. as they come) or you can customize the length, neckline, sleeve type, and pockets. This dress comes OTR with cap sleeves and below-the-knee, but I shortened the hem and made the sleeves bracelet length, and I’m in love.

N.B. that this is also my first eShakti dress made with woven cloth (as opposed to stretch knit) and now I can definitively say that the sizing runs a tad small. If you’re between sizes, play it safe and go up a size.

When wearing plaid, it’s very important to not look like a little kid. Oxfords are not an option. Since it’s still cold out, I layered this dress with tights and ankle boots and added simple gold jewelry for the final look. When spring comes, I’ll plan to wear it with gray suede wedges – keeping the look serious but fresh.
