You guys, WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP BEING COLD? We woke up yesterday to 50-degree weather, but it was back in the teens by the time I left choir rehearsal. Dislike.

Given that I’m in the midst of selling my condo, I have to get ready in the morning for what amounts to 12+ hours away from home. Today, after work, my gentleman friend and I are going to a friend’s happy hour event. This dress is great for the transition from work to play, and with the right layering it’s pretty darn warm.

First, the dress. My beloved Shoshanna, naturally. I got it on sale for a fraction of its list price, and it’s now even lower at Neiman Marcus, so what are you waiting for? It’s merino wool, and quite cozy. Given the way it hugs my curves, I opted for higher-waisted tights. I’ve got leggings and thick socks beneath those tights, too, and then tall boots over them. To accessorize, I chose a classic watch, a simple gold cigar-band ring, and slightly-flashy stud earrings.

Now just to cross my fingers that we get warm spring weather soon.
