Day two of the second polar vortex in the last six weeks; WHY? Angst aside, today was a bit of an extra challenge because I’ve got a meeting this evening that I want to look half-presentable for, so I can’t roll in wearing the jeans and slouchy sweater I chose yesterday.
This outfit serves both purposes well: the thick knit of the dress combined with the cozy sweater keeps my upper half warm, and the ribbed tights and sturdy boots prepare me well to brave the still-icy streets. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the scarf is a maroon and gray houndstooth pattern, and the tights and boots are taupe, so the gray cardigan ties it all together. The ivory in the stripes pulls in the ivory in the scarf.
Oh, and the boots brand – Fitzwell – is a winner. They have a variety of calf sizes, so those of us with #TeamPCA calves can ensure a fit, and every pair comes with an incredibly comfortable gel insole. I could walk miles in these.
Bring it on, polar vortex!
