With a high in the 50s and the likelihood of sun, I took a chance and broke out the ankle pants. I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of navy ankle-length trousers for ages, and when I saw these BR beauties in my favorite cut (Jackson) I snapped them right on up.
Speaking of a great sale, I’d been eyeing these Madewell smoking loafers for ages, but they were priced in the three digits – too much for my budget. I came across them on New Year’s Eve when Madewell was having an extra % off sale items promotion, and walked out with these shoes for $30!
All of these items are reminiscent of menswear, which is a look I enjoy but can also be tricky to pull off. The way I do it is to make sure I have plenty of feminine touches to offset the masculine cuts. The butterflies in the blouse, the delicate jewelry, and the bold-but-feminine colors – that’s the way I make menswear work.
