Nora’s #PCA New Year’s Resolutions

I love the concept of New Year’s resolutions. Maybe it’s because my birthday is around the same time, but the idea of an opportunity to Do Things Better in the new year really appeals to me. I’ve got a long list going (the same way I do every year) but a few are specific to @TeamPCA:

  1. I’m going to start paying better attention to proportions. Ugh, I should’ve been doing this long before this blog ever came into being, but I find that I’m only a petite size part of the time. Take this dress, for instance: it’s just a tiny bit too short and the waist is just a tiny bit too high for me to make it work for the office. Had I bought it in non-petite, the waist would be lower and the length would be longer. In 2014, I’m going to be more aware of these details.
  2. I’m going to pare down my skincare collection. This doesn’t mean stop caring! No, ma’am. It just means that I’m going to keep an eye on the (a) breadth and (b) expense of my supply, and accepting when something works and is only half-used, I should finish the bottle before I consider a change (and ask myself why I’m really considering a change, anyway).
  3. (This actually began in December 2013, but) I’m growing out my eyebrows! And it is driving me nuts. They are a wild mess right now. I’ve got an appointment in late January for “brow sculpting,” and I decided I wanted two months of natural growth beforehand, or else I’d wind up with essentially the same shape and a wasted $35. My short hair has shown me the absolute importance of my brows, and I’m committed to getting them in check.
  4. I’m going to stop pretending like I will ever wear heels on a regular basis. I still own a few pair for special occasions, but I have no need for heels during the week or on most weekends. I will no longer be purchasing heels with the false pretense that I’ll wear them regularly. It’s just not going to happen.

My co-blogger will be posting her own #PCA resolutions this week as well. What are yours?
