Sweater: Madewell [similar] | Jeans: 7 for all Mankind | Boots: Franco Sarto | Earrings: Aoko Su
Normally I don’t like wearing denim to work, but this week’s combination of stress (deadlines! deadlines!) and cold weather (snow! snow!) left me awake this morning, unable to feel satisfied with anything BUT jeans. That said, I refuse to wear my weekend skinnies to work, no matter how stinking adorable they might look. When going into the office in jeans, it’s a trouser cut pant or it’s no denim at all.
These “Dojo” cut jeans from 7 for all Mankind fit the bill perfectly. They’re made of an incredibly soft, long-lasting denim that flatters to no end. Technically these are the petite version of the Dojos, but even so the inseam is too long for me to wear with anything but a heel. Thankfully, my beloved Franco Sarto booties are a perfect match.
This sweater, sadly, is unavailable to even admire on Madewell’s website, but it’s a lovely. It has a trompe-l’œil collar knit in, and the almost-but-not-quite-orange of the red is perfect to cheer a gal up on a cold Friday morning. With the interesting detail at the neckline, I didn’t want to distract with any necklaces, so my only jewels today are a pair of Aoko Su’s fabulous dagger hoops.
Finally, it’s Friday the 13th! “If this is a joke, I’m gonna brain ’em.”
