Pants are never an option for a petite lady on a rainy day, as they’ll inevitably get soaked to the knee (even in a light sprinkle – it never fails). So imagine my frustration, then, when I woke up this morning to reports of showers all day, having picked out a lovely outfit last night that involved my very favorite navy blue Theory trousers and my brand new camel cardigan via Cyber Monday.
Thankfully, this dress is always in reserve, waiting for the coach to throw her in for the last big play of the game. This dress is a jersey knit shirtdress, which means it has a collar but still feels like a t-shirt. I got it from my beloved Boden about a year ago, and even after it went on sale for 50% of what I’d paid for it, I never felt like I’d overspent. Alas, it seems to have sold out by now, but the principal remains the same: jersey knit, defined waist, dainty collar.
The raincoat pictured above was purchased on an unintentional Black Friday shopping trip when my co-blogger, our SOs, and I went to the mall to kill time before a movie last Thanksgiving. Naturally, she and I beelined for the Petites section at Banana, and this coat was singing to me from the moment I saw it. Given that it was Black Friday, I managed to get it for way less than the asking price, but given that it was late at night, we also managed to avoid the crowds. Hooray, convenience!
